Membership Terms/Rules & Regulations

A completed Training Membership Application Form  and a Release of Liability Form, verification of vaccinations and payments should be presented to Bonjon Shepherd Ranch approved agents only or mailed.  When approved you will be issued a membership card and can then use the facilities.  Monthly and Yearly Memberships will begin on either the first or the fifteenth of each month.  Daily usage must be pre-arranged and pre-paid.  Yearly Membership may pay in advance or quarterly.  There is a $5.00 additional charge per payment for quarterly payments.  In addition, late payments have a $5.00 fee per 10 days late.  After 10 days privileges will be suspended.   You may request a temporary suspension of your membership for periods of absence (travel or health) for periods 30 days or greater.  Advance notice is required except for verified health emergencies.  You may cancel your membership (or membership can be terminated by Bonjon Shepherd Ranch for non-compliance with the rules).  You will be refunded the ending balance minus the monthly rate of time used or 3 months; whichever is greater, instead of the yearly rate.

Use Of All Bonjon Membership Areas

Use of any of the Bonjon property for any endeavor or training on your part is done strictly at your own risk.  Use it safely and be considerate of others who may be training during your stay.  If you are using an area that others also wish to use please share to allow equal time for all.  Please try not to contaminate the tracks of those working in the grove.  If swimming your dog please do so away from the agility area so as not to disturb any people training in that area.  Basically, treat others as you’d like to be treated and use common sense!  Whatever you bring, please take away with you or place in the provided covered trashcans.  Poop must be bagged and then can be placed in a trashcan.  Please do not bring any glass or glass products with you.  If you smoke you must either take your butts with you or place them in the trash making sure they are not still lit or hot.

DOGS

ONLY dogs listed on your application are allowed in the rings and on the property.  There are no exceptions.  You may add additional dogs and pay the appropriate fees.  If your dog has “issues” with dogs or people you must yield the use of the area when others come to practice.  Bonjon suggests that you do not let dogs run unrestrained with dogs they do not live with.  Sometimes dogs that have no issues within their own “pack” can either develop them or gang up on another pack or single dog.  Sometimes a dog’s own “pack” will join with another dog or “pack” from outside their home and ugly things can happen.  In addition, my personal philosophy is that injuries can occur when dogs run in any pack.  Use your best judgment and exercise caution.  You and you alone are responsible for whatever occurs to you, your family, your dog or another’s dog if your dog or yourself is at fault.  Dogs behave like very young children and don’t always look where they are going or judge distances well.  They can run into each other or other obstacles and injuries, sometimes catastrophic and career ending can occur.  This is stated as a reminder and is our opinion.  Again, you make the final call.  If your dog is aggressive please be outspoken and protect both yourself and others by keeping your distance and your dog under control.  You may not ask others to yield to you.  You must yield to them.

Red Bandana Rule:

This is a common warning system at Dog Camps all over the US and other training facilities.  It warns people from a distance that your dog has space “issues” (or other issues).  Please utilize this if you have a dog with these types of issues as an additional warning to others.  You may also prefer to utilize a red bandana to allow your dog to have “space”.  In this case you are protecting your own dogs from those that might come to close and traumatize your dog or youngster, perhaps during a fear development stage.

Equipment

Please treat the equipment as if you own and care for it.  Equipment is expensive and time consuming to maintain.  Having great equipment is a benefit to all who train at Bonjon in whatever capacity.  You may move Equipment and jumps but they must be returned to their original location.  Please do not drag equipment through the grass or dirt as this tears up the grounds.  The chute is stored in the barn.  If you wish to attach the chute fabric please replace it in the barn when you are finished.  Any tools removed from the Tool Box must be replaced.  If a piece of equipment breaks or you feel it is unsafe, please use the report forms located in the tube inside the mailbox.  You may also remove the equipment from the ring and place it outside.

Comments, Suggestions and Complaints should be put in writing and either placed in the tube or e-mailed.  If you have a complaint and the solution please include!  Anonymous complaints will not be addressed.
